Traveling to Philadelphia

Traveling from Canada to Philadelphia

Driving from Toronto to Philly takes about nine hours. You get to pass through the Poconos which are quite pretty. Driving time will vary depending on which border crossing you choose.

We've found that it's best to cross into the US at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge north of Niagara Falls, or the Peace Bridge at Fort Erie/Buffalo. DO NOT cross at the Rainbow Bridge in Downtown Niagara Falls in a car. It takes forever and is always busy.

Flights from Pearson to Philadelphia International Airport are available and take 1.5 hours. Flights to Newark Liberty Airport in Newark, NJ are often a bit cheaper, but you will then need car or train to get to Philadelphia. Amtrak runs regular train services along the Northeast Corridor that stop at Newark Airport and will take you to 30th Street Station in Philly.

Getting from PHL to Center City (Downtown)

SEPTA’s Airport Line takes 25 minutes to get from the airport to Suburban station in Center City. Trains stop at all airport terminals and depart roughly every half hour to Suburban.

A rideshare/taxi takes around 20 minutes to get to Center City.

You can also rent a car, but probably won't need it, since all of the festivities will take place in Center City, which has limited and expensive parking. Philadelphia is also an extremely walkable city!
